JSR does a wonderful job of creating characters that are complex and realistic. It's easy to believe they have a life off the page and don't just exist for the scenes they are written into. She's gifted the vampires of WVMP radio with complete personalities and quirks all their own.
In this book we learn a little more about the history of The Control. I love JSR's imagination; the experimentation with vampirism carried out by this group is unique but exactly what you would expect from this type of shadowy government agency. I also enjoyed learning more about Shane's past and family.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book and will definitely read the next one.
