Queen of Shadows - Dianne Sylvan Great read. Sylvan did a wonderful job of painting Miranda as tough, yet damaged at the same time. She's survived by learning fast and employing tricks to handle her gift, but Miranda is only hanging on by a thin thread when she meets David. Again, the characterization is wonderfully worked out. David is an interesting mix of ancient and modern, a vampire from the past who has pushed himself to change with the times. The vampire society itself is complex and interesting. I'm definitely looking forward to more in this series.
