Mercy Blade - Faith Hunter I love that Hunter has given Jane and Beast distinctive voices and personalities. The complexities of their relationship and the give-and-take neccessary for their survival in one body is written beautifully. Other relationships played important parts in the story as well. The slow seduction being played out between Jane and Bruiser continues and were some of my favorite sequences in the book. Rick is "off-screen" the majority of the book, but Jane's feelings for him are central to her resistance to Bruiser and also play an important role in resolving the situation with the werewolves. Overall a wonderful read and I'm eagerly awaiting the next installment.
